Generating income from your own domain is a long-term prospect, no matter what anyone tries to tell you... unless you intend to use black hat or invest an enormous amount in advertising. For short-term earnings, you'll (almost) always be better off doing work for other people.

Send emails to their helpdesk, their info address, their applications people, their marketing people, the boss, the domain contacts (you can get those from a WHOIS) and anyone else you can find. If you ask enough people, you'll eventually embarass them enough that they'll do it. Or, if they don't, you can report them to their national trading standards organisation and post negative reviews all over the Internet.
