So tell me; do you use wordpress for blogs and if so do you use .org or .com ?

@ Joe sorry BUT I must disagree with your comment. .com is for the free users and it is very hard to commercialise such a site.

I second Paula's answer. Self-hosted is much more versatile in terms of domain and sub-page names.

I prefer self hosted. It can be installed quite easy through cPanel fantastico option.

Use .com it's the best way to Google's heart. :-) .org is for Organizations. .com is for commercial.

well done Cepreii yet do you rely on your host to build your website or use the wordpress option?

Considering there are so many providers now who will give you free wordpress hosting with cpanel and ftp support, I see no reason to use a free host such as wordpress.org. Especially when they restrict allowing any sort of affiliate links in the sidebars.

Its a matter of spending $4.00 for a domain name (I prefer .info for blogs) and setting up your blog.

Self-hosted is definitely the way to go. With so many affordable hosting services available, I cant see any reason why you would not choose this option. Not only do you have full control, your content is not restricted to what WP deems as inappropriate...

I do use FTP mainly for files myself or my son have created offline but the majority of the site creation is server side

so Sean do you use the FTP to create your wordpress blog...if you even have one?
