Hello Brenda.. I will assume that you are referring to adding banners etc into an AdExchange or some other advertsing resource online..
While all systems are not exactly alike, they have the same fundamental components.
First there will be the IMAGE URL which is the banner itself (some sites may require an uploaded image from your HD) In either case, the second link required will be the destination link or page. This could be an affiliate link, blog post, file download, etc.
