What about the legit programs that have scammed members. I have seen plenty over the years. Do we ban legit programs as well.To me it boils down to doing your own due Diligence and making an informed decision. If your not sure on something ask around to get info and not just willy nilly join a program because Mr Big Time said it's good.
Warren, see thats just it, Ponzi scams, pryamid scams, and the likes are indeed illegal, but people are quick to make a snap judgement.
However with ponzi thats not the case.... at all.
There need be no judgement call. The US security exchange commission (the SEC) made that call already. They defined a HYIP schemes as being ANY program that GUARANTEES a return on investment.
Seems pretty straight forward about this one... if there is a guarantee on return, its an HYIP. I haven't found an H
The problem I see is too many are quick to place that label and the line between legal and illegal is very thin. If you kick out HYIP, then you should kick out all the other Ponzi Schemes (like Profit Clicking and Empower Network) and who makes that determination? Saying something is illegal can be a snap judgement call and where would the recourse or appeal be available? I say leave it alone.
Bruce, I think you're right. HYIP means High Yield Investment Program and that's where the deception really starts from. The High interest payments strangulate the program and the owners who right from the beginning know very well that the program will not be sustainable just vanish and resurface another day with another HYIP! Crooks!
You guys seem to miss the point. HYIP is not legal. Its illegal. Thats like saying "we should let people decide to murder they know the risks involved". The problem is, those getting shot don't know the risks involved.
Equating that to HYIP.... YOU know the risks involved. Meanwhile time and time again people have lost retirements, education funds, life savings, church funds, and every thing else because they DIDN'T know the risks involved. Had no one been able to pitch these SCAMS they wouldn
I don't think 'kicking' them out would be an 'intelligent idea'! Everyone should have their own say, unless they resort to SPAMMING! Regarding the 'risks' involving HYIP's, it's 'RISKY' only when we do not know how to 'play it smart', as it's quite 'profitable' when we are all 'eyes & ears' about what we are into! ;-)
I think it would be good. To protect the members that are not skilled to recognize scams and join everything that promises it will make them loads of money
At the end of the day though, they are scams, the only reason people make money is because the last ones in lose money. This has been proven time and time again.
Also just because YOU know the risks doesn't mean others are not conned into believing the "guaranteed returns" that hyip's ALL make.
Look what profitable sunrise did to countless thousands of CHURCHES!
No, HYIP should not be kicked out. It is a business and carries its own risks; and anyone doing it should be aware of these risks. It is free entry and free exit. No compulsion.

That would be very good, in order keep others safe...especially the ones that cannot see scams
