No I believe that its who your listening to, combined with what you know that makes a difference in how you progress. There are a lot of people spreading good information, but some or most of it is incomplete, creating a huge workload trying to discover whats missing that prevents forward movement.

In part, yes, its who you know. Its what they know, in combination with what you know, and are willing to apply. Knowing is not enough.

I firmly believe that it is a combination of the two. You need to know "something" about what you are doing before you can use the leverage of Who you know to obtain your goals. The What is a foundation and the Who are the rungs on the ladder to the top. With no rungs, you won't be able to climb.
