Can someone tell me how to take a picture of my screen?

you can use "Print Screen" button for printing whole screen snap shot, just hit that button from keyboard and go to MS-Paint from the edit menu click "Paste" option or press ctrl+v.

You can also use "awsomescreenshot" add-on of google chrome browser to get your screen shot,I recommend this ad-on for screen capturing.

You can use the software lightshot, or many other software that works the same.

There is a built in 'print screen' option on your keyboard... just press that key when you are on the page that you want, then open 'paint' (or whatever graphics editor you use) and ctrl -V. This will paste it to the editor and you can save it to your computer or edit it or whatever you wish :)

Trev, I was using Jing before discovering screenr.com, which is easier to use, imo. As for screenshots, I use Screen Hunter, it has features that allow me to easily save screenshots in files while for example watching a webinar.

Philippe I have not found anything Jing does not work with. Jing is a free downloadable tool from TechSmith and people should give it a try.

Simple... find prind screen button on your keyboard, take a snap, and then open Paint or Photoshop and use Paste option

I don't know if screenr does what you ask, Trev, I never felt the need for it, but it sure is a good feature of Jing. Can Jing read an mp4 video ?

I think screencast is being muddled with screen capture here. It's one thing to roll and record certain screen activities yet if i was watching a recorded playback of a video I can snapshot any part of that video for my library using Jing... does screenr do that? I thought screenr was more record n roll... correct me if i'm wrong please.

Trev, I used to use Jing for screencast videos, I changed for screenr.com it's easier, nothing to download, gives better results and free too.

Snagit is an awesome tool,but download Jing this does virtually the same as snagit but its FREE!! okkkkkkk...

Simple just press the print screen key and then go to paint and paste the image and then save it somewhere and then upload where you want it to appear.

yes,,you can capture full screen, or whatever you want,,use hot keys, im use, F11, for capture full screen

Thanks again sri n. that is a brilliant description of use of Quick Screen. Yet it is a full screen capture is it not ? I still find Jing as a freeware tool very useful for capturing only what I need from the screen, The captured image before saving can be manipulated to include Text,Arrows,Shapes and then simply save to a folder you choose...if you want to edit the caption further then use your outside program such as windows paint. Give jing a try it may speed up your process
