The problem with your analogy Michael, is there is not just one winner in this game. I may not be able to win the race with my donkeys, but I can sure give them a lot better chance to cross the finish line.

My answer to this is by asking a question (without offending anyone): Can a donkey win a horse race even if it has a professional jockey on it's back?Think about it.......

That depends on two things, if the mentor is really there to help you and not just trying to line their own pockets and how willing you are to take action on what they tell you. If they give you step one and you use the excuse that you want to see the whole picture before you waste any time, sorry but you are already wasting yours and theirs both.

Yes. The person(s) are there to guide you on your way to success and help with those "challenges" we all run into every now and again. :D

It definitely does. A mentor could give you encouragement and advice on ocassions when you are stuck with anything. And its good to have someone to share the burden together with you:)
