If you have a car, it is usually your primary method of transportation across your town or city. With public transport and outdoor travel being compromised or at least unsafe, due to the global pandemic, private vehicles have become more and more valuable. Because they allow people to travel to places that they need to go (groceries, hospital visits, work, etc.) without relying on commuting, private vehicles are being used more frequently. That’s why it’s important to take care of them. Take your car AC, for example. Consider how hot and humid it can be in the Philippines, your car’s air conditioning unit might be overworked. Like a regular oil change, your car AC needs a regular check-up. Here are some signs that you need to get your car AC checked.

When It Smells

The most common indicator of something’s unhealthiness is the smell. If the air that blows out of your vents stinks or smells musty in a way that’s thicker than usual, then something must be wrong. Maybe there’s too much dust or mold growing inside, or something might have died inside and began to stink. Whatever the reason, don’t wait until the smell is too much to bear.

When it Makes Strange Noise

All AC systems make that familiar droning noise when at work. However, when it’s rattling or making other unusual sounds, then something must be causing it to be that way. Clogged dust or faulty wiring are a few possible reasons why it’s making such a noise. Such noises might indicate bigger problems, and at worse, you might start smelling smoke if you don’t resolve it quickly.

When It’s Not as Cold

Have you ever used a fan with a grill that’s covered in dust? You’ve probably noticed that it’s not as cool as it should. The same problem can be applied to AC units, particularly car air conditioning. If your AC’s cold levels have to be turned up high to be cold, then that means that its interior system needs fixing.
