Energy efficient window materials:


Energy-efficient windows are available in a variety of materials and designs. The energy efficiency of a window is determined by how much these materials prevent heat from escaping, as well as how much sunlight passes through the glass and how little air leaks around it. Two or three glass panes are enclosed in a single unit and surrounded by a frame made of uPVC, wood, or another material in energy efficient windows.


  • Double glazing are made up of two sheets of glass with a 16mm distance between them.

Air or an inert gas such as argon fills the spaces between the glass panes. The air or gas is perfectly encased in a sealed container. If you've noticed condensation between the panes of glass in your double glazing units, the seal is probably broken, and the device will need to be replaced.


This is not a concern if you have condensation on the outside of your windows. It's an indication that your windows are extremely energy efficient. The condensation will evaporate easily and will not cause any damp issues.
