Image Cloud computing is growing and gaining acceptance within businesses. Cloud Computing has already started to revolutionize the way we store and access data. Although cloud computing is on its way to becoming a huge success, at the same time it is clear there is a lot of business value, there are some concerns and challenges related to cloud computing. Like any new technology, the implementation of cloud computing is not free from issues. Several challenges related to cloud computing are as follows.

The main challenge and risk in Cloud computing are Security and Privacy. This is because, essential services are generally outsourced to the third party, which makes it harder to maintain data integrity and confidentiality, support data and service availability, and demonstrate compliance.Although security in the cloud is generally reliable and proficient, the enterprise needs to know that the cloud provider they chose to work with has a fully secure cloud environment.

Many enterprises also feel that the service quality is one of the challenges for not moving their business applications to the cloud. According to them, the SLAs provided by the cloud providers today are not sufficient to guarantee the requirements for running production applications on cloud especially related to the performance, availability, and scalability. And without proper service quality enterprise will not move their business application to the cloud.

Also, many times bandwidth is not adequate which makes it impossible for delivery of complex service through the network. The challenge with the cloud is that the data is accessed via an internet connection rather than a local connection. So when the network or internet connection is down, it also means that cloud services are also down; thus data cannot be accessed. Many of the businesses are waiting for improved bandwidth and lower costs before they consider moving into the cloud.

There is also need to connect the cloud application with the rest of the enterprise in a simple, quick and cost-effective way. Integration is a problem for many organizations. Ensuring that all of the applications are able to seamlessly integrate with one another is also a common challenge. Many applications have complex integration which needs to connect to other cloud applications as well as other on-premise applications. These include integrating existing cloud applications with existing enterprise applications and data structures.

Many cloud adoption challenges are unknown due to the fact that cloud technology is still in its early stages. Although transitioning to the cloud is a complex and involved process, there isn’t one route to success. The Enterprise must ensure that the proposed solution compliments their business model. There are various ways businesses can transition to the cloud. Whether it is through private, public or hybrid technologies, identifying the right service model for your business is an important step.
