Roatan is a Caribbean Island city that is
sandwiched between Utila and Guanaja Island, about 65km on the north coast of
Honduras. Roatan is one of the largest islands and was formerly called Rattan.
Roatan consist of two main municipalities-Jose Santos Guardiola and Roatan.
Honduras is a country in Central America nestled between the Caribbean Sea to
the north and the Pacific Ocean to the South. Roatan is also called the Bay
Island –a group of small islands and coral reefs about 40 miles off the coast. If

Key
Anthony’s Key is a unique place where you can
swim with the dolphins for a while; you can touch and feed them. The dolphin
excursion in Anthony’s Key is only about a mile or two outside of the west end
so it’s very easy. It's about half a day adventure and makes sure you do some
snorkeling and dolphin excursion.
Gumbalimba
Park
Gumbalimba Park is one of the best places to
watch native iguanas, white-face monkeys, and free-roaming macaws. Gumbalimba
Park was established in 2003 and it is a privately owns history park, a park
that got its name from a native tree in the island called –Gumbo Limbo. This
eco-adventure park features a pool, museum an anime center, botanical garden,
waterfront, etc. Gumbalimba Park's main attraction includes the animals –you
can watch the sloths, agoutis, parrots, different species of monkeys, and
macaws. It is stretched for 20 acres and offers endless outdoor opportunities
like walking through the trails, walking the 237 suspended bridges, or attending
one of the many rescue programs organized by the park.
Half Moon
Bay West and Roatan
If you are in Roatan you will find these two
places Half Moon Bay West and Roatan separated only by a few miles but they are
completely different. West Bay features more resorts, hotels, and many tourists
while the West End has more of the local flare. West End is quite quaint, there
is no sidewalk you can walk everywhere but it’s just not commercialized. You
can spot plenty of cute little restaurants and boutique shops and everyone’s
just going friendly it is very low-key. They call it the party town while West
Bay is the furthest western point on this beautiful island and West Bay is
mainly a beautiful beach with white sandy shorelines that runs half a time. You
can find everything every beach activity from paddle boarding, kayaking,
parasailing, everything you want to do in sunny weather.
Arch’s
Iguana & Marine Park
Arch’s Iguana & Marine Park is located in
French Cay, Roatan, this region offers a good iguana excursion for iguanas’
lovers. It is one of the oldest parks
and sanctuaries that was established in 1980 with a motive to protect
iguanas. This sanctuary houses over 4000
iguanas like the Black Spiny Tailed iguana. Arch’s Iguana & Marine Park is
also home to other animals like Capuchin monkeys, Amazon parrots, and scarlet
macaws. It also contains a small seaside marine park, a gift shop, etc.
Fort Morgan
Cay
Fort Morgan Cay is an all-inclusive private
island, a 40 acre that forms part of the Bay Island of Honduras. It can host up to 8-20 people giving you
access to exclusive use of the cays and the surrounding areas. You can enjoy
fresh local seafood, fruits, snacks, numerous recreational activities. Some of
the activities here include snorkeling, swimming, Hobie cat sailing, fishing,
volleyball, laser sailing, badminton, paddleboarding, kayaking, treasure hunt,
yoga class, snorkeling, etc.
