Most people wanting to study abroad base their choice of country on three things, availability of their choice of course, university ranking and tuition fee, and rightly so. However, there are a few other factors that must be taken into account when picking a study abroad place. Overseas consultants in Bangalore will vouch for the fact that weather is an important factor that must be well-thought-of at the time of picking a country.

Most countries like the U.K have extreme weather conditions, and Indians, especially those who have lived in West or East India, may not be able to bear the extremities. Moreover some of these countries are too far and those people who cannot live by themselves easily will find it difficult to not have the option for returning more than once in the year. Food might also be an issue in some countries. Language might be another important deterrent.

The following countries make it to the top three countries most suited for Indians, due to their ability to offer a conducive and comfortable environment, similar to what is available at home:

Australia:

It is far, there is no denying that. However that is probably the only drawback as compared to most other study abroad destinations. Australia, especially cities like Sydney and Melbourne is home to thousands of very happy Indians. The weather is bearable, food choices are aplenty and the Universities are among the top in the world. They offer courses across fields. Moreover Australia has some of the best places to party and also sight see. Indian students are accepted well, contrary to what is believed and the standard of living is extremely high.

Singapore:

This city is slowly becoming student’s paradise. The cost of living is a bit high compared to most other places but the proximity to India, makes up for it. Again, food is global and night life is great. There are a number of Universities that have come up and some of them have made it to the top 100 list. The best part is that the weather is most similar to India. No extreme winters, rains every now and then and a decently warm summer. Singapore also has an excellent transportation system which makes getting around for students very easy. The city is also a finance hub and getting a job during college or after will be relatively easy, especially if finance is your forte.

U.S.A:

There is a reason the United States is the number one choice for study abroad programs. All overseas consultants in Bangalore will recommend at least one University here, simply because it offers varied academic excellence. There isn’t a single field or sub topic that is not here. There is a short or long course for every possible subject, no matter how niche. Moreover, it is filled with Indians. You will always find relatives or friends or friends of relatives in every city and you won’t feel like you ever left home. Food is excellent and varied, Indian food is easily available and is relatively cheap too. Weather might be troublesome in some cities like Chicago but if compared to UK weather, it is still bearable.

Many European countries are also becoming popular for their Universities and courses. However the biggest disadvantages here for Indians would be language, food and even weather to a great extent. A thorough analysis keeping various factors in mind is thus very important when picking a place to study abroad.
