There are many universities in Georgia that have become very popular for Indian students to go to for MBBS in Georgia. A number of these universities are new and have been established in the last few years, specifically for international students. It becomes really very difficult for students in India to decide which university to choose amongst all of them. How does one decide?

We have been travelling to Georgia since 1993. Some members of DTMU India are Georgians by nationality and they know the exact picture of each and every university in that country. We find that very often people in India do not have the right information about a number of issues, like the correct duration of the course; about the syllabus followed; about the infrastructure; about hostel facility etc. There are many articles and innumerable videos where we find that the information provided is incorrect or misleading. As a practice we do not name anyone in social media, however when the candidates call us or meet us we provide them with accurate information about all of these.

One finds that the consultants promoting ‘MBBS Abroad’ universities do not disclose the details. Their main aim becomes promoting these universities at any cost. We at DTMU India feel it is important for perspective students to know the real picture.

Here are some basic facts about MBBS in Georgia:

1.      MBBS in Georgia is a 6 years course. 5 years of studies, plus 1 year of internship. Any agent claiming that they offer a shorter course is misleading the people. This is the rule of Georgian Government. We have documentary proof of this. Issued by the Georgian Education Ministry.

2.      There are many new colleges that have opened up in the last 3-4 years. They claim that they already have graduates. That is not possible since they need at least 6 years to have at least one graduate.

3.      Hostel: There is not a single medical university in Georgia that has its own hostel within the university compound. Only DTMU, Rustavi has this facility.

4.      Recognition: Some agents claim that a particular university’s degree is recognized all over Europe. That is not true. Every major country in Europe has its own eligibility test. One has to pass that test before considering practicing medicine in that country.

5.      TRC: The Temporary Residency Card that is issued to foreign students in Georgia does not make them eligible for visa free travel to Europe. Its shocking to see many agents claiming that a Georgian TRC would mean visa free travel to Europe. Not true.

We provide genuine information on innumerable such points. No doubt that MBBS in Georgia is a very good choice, however it is very important to know the reality before taking admission.

We would recommend any student or parent who are considering Georgia for MBBS to contact us for the real information that the agents do not provide. We are not agents. We don’t accept any service charges.
