Everyone carefully chooses his clothes when he buys them and when he puts them in the morning. And we would like to know why. What does it mean to say? This daily behaviour is in fact very complex. Many factors are at play, which involve both fashion and character clothing kids.

The basic question about clothing is – why do we wear clothes, when we are all born naked? In order to answer these questions, the four main functions of the garment must be used: protection, modesty, adornment and speech. Protection refers to clothing that protects us from the natural elements abrasions, animal bites or insect bites, men's shots in war or in sports, etc. As for modesty, sexuality is much more important to account for the garment, the first and last of the garments to hide their reproductive organs. Finally, the ornament makes a better account of the garment. Its origin must indeed be found in the trophy of hunting that the hunter keeps on his back to perpetuate the memory of his victory. Recently, research on clothing has focused on its function of speech, language or communication. Costume is a silent speech that we hold to others to warn them of whom we are and what we love.

The costume is a psychosocial reality, but its social part is more important than its personal psychological part. It is essentially made to translate gender, age and social classes. All the peoples of all ages have used the garment to indicate the sex of the wearer. The masculine and feminine costumes are always and everywhere different, but the difference may concern the whole or a detail.

The age code is well known and everyone wears the clothes of his age group. Differences have become very important: men's costumes, dresses and suits of women, jeans tee-shirt and youth sweater. Even the clothing stores have specialized, because clients of different ages can no longer cope. The existence of the code is confirmed by crossings. Some adults dress as teens to "make young", while many young people wear old-age clothes, with "papa's shirts", grandma's glasses and various retro styles.

There is also a code of social classes. What others try to determine through our clothes is our belonging to one of the thousand shades of social classes. Now the code crossings are constant – kids and students dress like grandparents while wearing baggy clothes.
