The Gold Digger and The Shovel Seller
In 1848, gold
was first discovered by James Marshal somewhere in Sacramento and in May 1848,
a store keeper Sutter’s Creek in stirred up people attraction by brandished a
bottle filled with gold dust around San Francisco.
Gold seeker all
over USA rushed to San Francisco to seek their fortune. In spring 1949, there
were about 30,000 people gathered at the launch point. By December 1949, there
were about 100,000 people staying in the then called Yerba Buena (San
Franscisco) when in April 1947 census, a town consist only 79 buildings of
various structures.
How many of these hundreds of thousand people stroke gold and got rich, there is not much account on this, but there were some people who had the entrepreneurial spirit did not join the herd. These people saw instead saw the need of providing needed services and tools to the gold seekers. Some started selling shovel, barrel and other tools; jeans was reported to be created during the Gold Rush Era. Other started providing services like salon, bar, lodging house etc, etc.
These are the
people who are able to step one step backward and see the real opportunity thus who are able to make the real money consistently regardless of who found the gold!

Thanks Tauheed, It took me sometime to realize also that I was one of those gold digger who are trying their luck and going nowhere. Now I am realigning my focus and work. It may be slow but once the system is in place and momentum pick up, it is SURE much much better than just digging Gold.

This article at it's core is about Entrepreneurship. That is the problem with tags, I refuse to click a tag that I don't feel is relevant to the article itself.

This type of people always look upon for long lasting resources. Gold once sold is not gold.

Cool story I like it!! And so true, sometimes it is wise to step back and 'see the forest for the trees' and maybe see something that have been overlooked.

Once again the behind the scenes people triumph. In this case the real go-getters are the service providers.
