Permanent Residence Skilled Regional Visa
Subclass 191 permits the
holder to live in Australia indefinitely and work in any state or territory.
The Visa allows you to leave and re-enter Australia as often as you like, but
certain conditions must be met; you must live in the designated area, meet
certain English language requirements, and have at least three years of
relevant experience before you apply. The Skilled Regional Visa also requires
that your partner and any dependent children live with you while you hold the
Visa.
Step 1- Check for Eligibility
To be eligible for the Permanent Resident
Skilled Regional (Provisional) visa,
- One
must be nominated by a State or Territory government and meet the skills
requirements of the relevant occupation on the Consolidated Sponsored
Occupations List.
- The
provisional visa holder is entitled to live and work in their nominated
state or territory and may apply for permanent residence after two years
of living and working in that state or territory.
- The
applicant must be sponsored by an eligible relative who is a permanent
resident or citizen of Australia and have an occupation on the SOL (Skills
Occupation List).
- The
applicant's qualifications must be at least equivalent to those required
in the relevant overseas country for the same type of work.
- They
also need to have passed any applicable licensing or registration exams.
- They
must show they live outside the major metropolitan areas and work in
regional Australia, including rural and remote areas.
- Finally,
they must show they meet health and character requirements, just as in
the Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme subclass 187.
Step 2- Application
The following is the application process for Permanent
Residence Skilled Regional Visa Subclass 191. The applicant must be
nominated by an Australian State or Territory government and obtain an
invitation from them before applying for the Visa.
A letter of support from each of your referees
is also required. An Expression of Interest will be submitted on behalf of the
applicant by their prospective Australian employer, specifying that they are
willing to provide a permanent job offer in line with skill requirements at no
less than two times the relevant minimum wage.
Step 3- Documents
To apply for Permanent Residence Skilled
Regional Visa Subclass 191, the following documents are required:
- Personal
Identity Documents, such as a passport or driver's license.
- Documents
to confirm their status as an Australian citizen or Permanent Resident of
Australia.
- Proof
of evidence of competent English language skills.
- A
signed statement that they intend to live in regional Victoria within two
years of being granted a visa.
- A
signed statement that they will have good character.
- A
letter from their employer stating that they need them in the regional
region and there is no other qualified Australian worker who can fill this
position.
- Evidence
of funds to support themselves while they reside in a regional region.
Step 4- Interview
You will have to attend an interview with a
Department of Immigration and Border Protection officer and answer questions
about your application form. They might ask you why you're applying for Permanent
Residence Skilled Regional Visa Subclass 191, what skills you have, how
much money you'll be earning, and so on. They may also want to see evidence
that you meet the eligibility requirements for the Visa.
After clearing the Interview, you will soon
receive your Visa.
