Pochettino's midfield has struggled for much of the season and Tottenham have an enormous gaping hole to fill. Gallagher is one of the only consistent contributors for Ange Postecoglou this term and an outstanding Chelsea player.

He has started every league match this season for the club and captained them in their Carabao Cup loss against Wimbledon on Wednesday.

Chelsea Value Gallagher at PS45 Million

Chelsea midfielder Paul Gallagher is drawing interest from Tottenham and West Ham. Chelsea value Gallagher at about PS45 million but are willing to let him leave in exchange for an attractive transfer fee.

Gallagher made an impactful mark during his time at Crystal Palace, being named club player of the year 2021-22. Since joining Chelsea this season as a regular starter he could potentially leave Stamford Bridge for another club should an attractive offer present itself.

Gallagher is an outstanding worker and would provide defensive cover in the Spurs midfield. Still young, Gallagher must continue growing and playing regularly to reach his full potential.

Tottenham are looking to offload several players before the window closes, including Callum Hudson-Odoi, who is being targeted by Nottingham Forest and Sheffield United; as well as Trevoh Chalobah who has been linked with Bayern Munich.

Tottenham Have Money to Spend

No doubt about it: Tottenham are in strong financial shape and can afford to invest significant sums into their squad. Their ENIC account has already seen millions injected this summer alone and they still enjoy enough room under UEFA's Financial Fair Play rules, since most of their spending over the last decade has gone towards infrastructure rather than players (although perhaps not quite so well on home-grown academy talent).

Chelsea may be willing to sell Gallagher for a significant fee - they have previously sold Callum Hudson-Odoi and Trevoh Chalobah at significant cost, and Tanguy Ndombele could leave on permanent terms before the deadline which could pave the way for Gallagher's arrival at Arsenal.

Chelsea Could Allow Gallagher to Leave for a Big Fee

Gallagher may be an in-house player at Stamford Bridge, but reports indicate they would accept an acceptable offer to allow him to leave - such as PS45million from Spurs - should Chelsea allow it.

Gallagher has made a solid start to his Chelsea career, appearing in both of their league games so far. However, new signings Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia could supplant him in Mauricio Pochettino's plans and threaten Gallagher's spot in the team.

Blues FC have already started clearing out fringe players such as Edouard Mendy, summer defensive flop Kalidou Koulibaly and Hakim Ziyech from their roster. Cole Palmer could become their final first-team addition while Callum Hudson-Odoi and Trevoh Chalobah could also leave. Should these moves go through, Gallagher would become an attractive target for Tottenham; who are considering making an offer come Deadline Day.

Spurs Will Need to Offload Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg

Pochettino remains confident that Gallagher remains part of his plans, yet other midfielders could depart on Deadline Day. Marc Cucurella may yet not complete his transfer to Manchester United while full-backs Dean Henderson, Eric Bailly and Scott McTominay may leave too.

Atletico Madrid are interested in signing Hojbjerg, who was one of the key players at North London club since joining from Southampton in 2020. Hojbjerg will face competition for starting roles from players such as Yves Bissouma, Olivier Skipp, Koke and Rodrigo de Paul.

Spurs have expressed interest in signing Nottingham Forest striker Brennan Johnson on loan from Brighton; should an agreement with Forest be reached on fees, one existing player could be offloaded - it could even be Gallagher; Fulham is also keen on this Denmark international and a deal is likely before Thursday at 11pm.
