South African Recipes and Cuisine
South Africa is sometimes known as the "Rainbow Nation", a term gave by Archbishop Desmond Tutu and later adopted by then Leader Nelson Mandela, which encapsulates the diversity of the nation's peoples and cultures.

This particular diversity is also reflected within South African cuisine, including cookery practised by native people including the Khoisan, Sotho- and Xhosa-speaking peoples, settler cookery introduced by individuals of Afrikaner and Uk descent, the cuisine from the Cape Malay people (people who came from Malaysia as well as Indonesia, and and released many dishes influenced through Malaysian cuisine), and the delicacies of people of Indian ancestry (influenced by Indian cuisine).

- Melktert - Melktert is Afrikaans for "milk tart". This dessert is made up of pastry crust containing any creamy filling made from dairy, flour, sugar, and ova. Cinnamon is sometimes sprinkled at first glance.
