Retino AC Gel is a mixture of two medications that cure pimples: Clindamycin Topical and Tretinoin Topical (acne). Clindamycin Topical is an antibiotic that penetrates the skin and kills acne-causing bacteria. Tretinoin Topical is a vitamin A derivative. It works by lowering oil generation in the skin, replenishing acne-prone skin, and aiding in the maintenance of open pores.

Clindamycin is a lincosamide antibiotic that is used to treat bacterial infections that are sensitive to it. Clindamycin is a lincomycin-derived semisynthetic antibiotic. It contains antibacterial and anti-acne properties. It binds to the bacterial ribosome's 50s subunit and suppresses the first step of protein synthesis. It is quite effective against gram-positive and anaerobic bacteria.

Tretinoin is a retinoid used to treat acne vulgaris. It reduces the cohesion of follicular epithelial cells, resulting in less microcomedo development. Furthermore, tretinoin stimulates mitotic activity and accelerates follicular epithelial cell turnover, leading in come done extrusion.
