Protect your business web site
You have a successful small home business and you setup web site or online store which support your business. After some time your site contains a huge amount of data necessary to implement your business communications (from the names of people, e-mail addresses, procurement of products or services, orders, etc. ...).
Although we can try very hard to protect this information, it can happen that hackers steal this data. There's no help against this. You should know that all protective tools just reduce the chances of breaking into your website. 100% protection does not exist.
Am not expert for web safety but I know one good habit that helps us in prevention of losing information. And this is the backup. It's boring and often time consuming task. However, it is a necessity in the strict sense, because without regular backup of data may run the risk of total loss. This is only way you can ensure that your data is always and at any time available for you and your customers.
Normally, backup could be done in two ways - by making local copies of data on your own computer or by archiving of data on your online account where you have placed the website. Both are good, especially the second, because you can access data from virtually anywhere.
More recently, there is a new online archiving service, also with free option and I highly recommend it to all who have a small business website. CodeGuard helps you to protect your web site from hacker attacks, harmful scripts, irruptions and other displeasures.
In your user account you enter the website address and FTP access and CodeGuard starts conscientiously to supervise web site. If something goes wrong you can easily restore the site to its former state from CodeGuard archives. For the small or average website free option should be enough. But if you want more or backup multiple sites they offer pay options. Prices go from $ 10 a month upwards.
CodeGuard develops one of Google's engineers-Matt Cutts.
If the service is interested to you, I can offer you free unlimited activation code. The code is: ilbiscom.

Hi, you don't need plugin for WP. Basic subscription to CodeGuard is free. You need to give there your FTP access to the site and that's all. The site is than automatically backed up periodically.

Yes, I am concerned to protect my sites because I have been hacked, backing up is the point I know but a paid/monthly service is not what I want. I don't know about CodeGuard. Is there a plug in for WP? I will check, thank you for the interesting article.
