Profile of Indian Casting Foundry Industry

The India Metal casting foundry industry is in good shape and well established. In the recent World census of Casting, which is done by Modern Castings, USA, India has the rank of the second-largest producer of casting in the world with an estimation of 7.44 million MT of different grades of the aspect of Casting by the International Standards.

The different types of Casting which are generally produced can be non-ferrous, ferrous aluminum alloy, graded cast iron as well as ductile iron and steel for the application in Automobiles, Pumps Compressor & valves, railways, Cement/electrical/textile pipes and fittings, diesel engines and also for other special requests. The exports of the casting industry are showing quite a healthy trend. Employment in this industry is quite vast. In this industry, the Grey iron is the major product component along with steel, ductile iron, and non-ferrous.
