Piles - A Few Basic Things You Must Know About
Going by the medical terminology, Piles are those areas in the anal canal where tissues have become swollen. They are not age bounded i.e. can happen to any age group.
Basically, piles
are of five types:
1ST degree piles: These are the swellings on the inner lining of the anal canal. They may bleed but can't be seen from outside the anus.
2nd degree piles: These are bigger in size and pop out of anus whenever you have a bowel problem but return inside afterwards.
3rd degree piles: These are similar as 2nd degree but in this case piles are hanging out the anus and get inside only after being pushed up.
4th degree piles: These piles are permanently popped out of the anus and become extremely painful as blood clots inside.
External Piles: These piles originate from below the anal cushion and can be more painful comparative to other three.
Symptoms:
Painless bleeding from anus
Lump outside anus
Swelling at the anus
Discharge of mucus
Inflammation in the skin outside anus
Feeling that your bowel is not completely empty which causes uneasiness
Piles Treatment:
There are a number of ways depending upon the degree of piles. Sometimes, home therapies can also work. Basically, warm water bathe does wonder which removes irritation and itchiness of skin around anus.
There are also various medicines available for the same. Many piles doctor also go for non surgical methods like banding and sclerotherapy. If these things don't work, then definitely you have to go for surgery. Now piles treatment has become quite easier job with the entire medical advancement.
