The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) has laid out guidelines encouraging designers to “be inclusive of racial diversity when preparing casting of models for their company needs.”

According to designer Diane von Furstenberg and CFDA CEO Steven Kolb, designers needed to rope in more models of color on the runway for NYFW, WWD reports.

Open to the public shows

Fashionistas who want to watch the shows first hand can buy tickets from companies like Macy’s, emerging designers, etc. There are also various other companies of varying degrees of legitimacy offering “tickets” to Fashion Week, Fashion Week Online reports.

However, there is no guarantee that certain companies offer you valid tickets. You need to do some legwork on the company and its veracity before buying the tickets. There will be prize giveaways for the public.

Rihanna, Kendall + Kylie pop-up shows

Rihanna will launch her Fenty x Puma label on Tuesday with personal appearances at a Bergdorf Goodman event and a 34th Street pop-up. This year the 28-year-old singer is not participating in a runway show at the NYFW.

Besides, Kendall and Kylie Jenner are celebrating the relaunch of the e-comm site. The sisters will hold a one-day shopping event at Samsung 837 Social Galaxy featuring their Kendall + Kylie collection, Vogue reports.

Live stream of NYFW

People who don’t want to buy tickets can watch the shows of various designers live streamed here. Fashionistas can be abreast of the new fashion trends on the runway.

The shows will be available across social media — Instagram, Twitter and Facebook, which will feature exclusive designer content, live streams. It will also have archives of designer shows, and social activations during the week and throughout the year.
