Other Netgear Extender Setup Troubleshooting Tips
If your Netgear extender is not working even after the setup, follow the below-mentioned steps to troubleshoot the device:
Make sure that you have a high-speed internet connection.
Ensure that your WiFi range extender is working on 192.168.1.250 IP address.
Ensure that your Netgear extender is receiving proper power supply.
Your WiFI range extender is connected well to your router via wired or wirelessly.
Try to change the 'Encryption Type' of your wireless home router. Try to change it in such a way that the security on your home router is lowered i.e. if your home router has WPA-TKIP, change it to WPA-AES.
If the issue still persists, then keep on changing for other encryption types like WEP, WPA, or no security as well ensuring both home WiFi router and range extender have the same encryption type.
Do not worry if your network connection suffers or your computer or laptop do not detect network SSID name of your home WiFi router since this is just a temporary setup. You have to change the encryption type to its original once the wireless range extender has successfully connected to your home router.
