Mozilla Firefox is the second most used browser in the world after Google Chrome. It is an open source browser which keeps on developing and getting better all the time. But, it is still prone to glitches and browsing problems.

If you are experiencing any issues with this browser, you may want to call the Mozilla Firefox customer support.  Thankfully, Mozilla has a good customer support. Also, there are third party organizations that provide Mozilla Firefox Tech support.

We are going to look at some of the most basic troubleshooting steps that resolve most of the common problems related to the browser. These are the steps used by the Mozilla Firefox customer support as well.

Rebooting the computer

If you are experiencing problem browsing certain content, which you could do before, it is best to try the most common solution – restarting the computer. Yes, it is true that rebooting the computer can take care of many issues. It refreshes the operating system as well as the applications.

Clearing cache and cookies

There are several issues that can be taken care of by clearing the cache and cookies. For instance, if you are experiencing difficulty while loading certain web pages, you can clear the cache and cookies by following these steps:

-          Click on the menu dropdown button on the browser. It is on the top right corner with the icon of three horizontal lines.

-          Now, click on the History icon in the dropdown

-          Click on Clear Recent History

-          If you wish to remove the entire history then choose Everything from the dropdown called Time Range to Clear

-          Now click on Details and you will see the list of all the items that can be removed

-          Select Cache and Cookies both and click on Clear Now

Using Firefox in the Safe Mode

This option is quite commonly used by the Mozilla Firefox tech support team for advanced troubleshooting. When Firefox is restarted in the Safe Mode, all the extensions are disabled, hardware acceleration is turned off, only the default theme is used, and toolbar controls and settings change to default.

-          To restart Firefox in Safe Mode, first close all the open Firefox Windows.

-          Now, while starting the Firefox browser again, hold the SHIFT key on your keyboard. This will start Firefox in safe mode.

-          Alternatively, you can click on the menu button, click on Help (question mark icon at the bottom of the dropdown), and then click on the option β€˜Restart with Add-ons Disabled.’

-          You will see the dialog called Firefox Safe mode; click on Start in Safe Mode here.

-          Now you can perform various types of advanced troubleshooting here.

When you are in the Safe Mode you can check if the problem is still persisting. If the problem persists, you will need more advanced troubleshooting. For this you may want to call Mozilla Firefox tech support.

If the problem does not persist, you will need to figure out why it is happening in the normal mode. Again, you may need to call the Mozilla Firefox customer support for further help.
