If you’ve been putting off your waxing appointment, you have to remember #NoPainNoGain! Not all waxing procedures have to be too painful, though. While various temporary hair removal solutions result in spiky and uncomfortable stubble that appear almost instantly, waxing helps the skin look silky smooth and without any hair for an extended period.

While the waxing services at home Dubai technique is essentially the same across different types, the application of wax can differ depending on whether hot or cold wax is used.

1) The method of hot waxing

A widely-followed practice, hot waxing, is where the salon-based or homemade wax is heated to a certain temperature until it becomes a gel-like sticky liquid before applying it on the desired part of the skin. Once done, strips are pressed on these layers and forcibly pulled to remove the wax and the hair along with it.

Pros: While this waxing at home Dubai method helps with maximum hair removal, it also helps remove tan. The hair left on the skin is very short, leaving the skin looking fresh and clean.

Cons: The heated wax could lead to occasional small/negligent burns, rashes, and bumps depending on the skin. The method could turn a little messy with the heating and application and might not be extremely effective for very tiny hair.

2) The method of cold waxing

Waxing strips with semi-solid wax present on them are available for purchase. Available in a pack, these strips can be applied directly on the skin and pulled hard. You can utilize this popular DIY method when no salon appointments are available or while getting ready for an impromptu event.

Pros: Cold full face waxing at home is a cleaner hair removal procedure than hot waxing. The strips are easier to use and available in various sizes and shapes, making them perfect. It is also a less painful method when compared with hot waxing.

Cons: Although it is a less painful method, cold waxing doesn’t give near-perfect results as hot waxing does. Repetition of cold full body wax at home may lead to ingrown hair follicles and skin irritation problems.

3) The method of soft waxing

Considered one of the must-use wax techniques, soft wax can be used for larger legs, arms, underarms, and the back. The wax is evenly spread over the desired area before being removed with a muslin cloth.

Pros: Soft wax does a fabulous job of fine hair removal, along with removing tan to a great extent. This method makes your skin soft with repeated usage.

Cons: Soft wax cannot reappear in the same sitting as it may cause skin bumps and irritation.

4) Strip-less waxing

Strip-less wax is applied to the required area of the skin and is allowed to cool for a few seconds. Once the wax sets on the skin, it is pulled off, thereby removing the hair along with it. The wax is taken off in the hair growths opposite direction. It is mostly used for delicate areas such as the face, bikini area, neck, etc.

Pros: Hair growth is slowed down to a great extent, along with providing a clean and polished finish. It is a preferred method for dense hair.

Cons: Strip-less wax can sometimes lead to skin burns and pain.
