For different types of diseases, treatments also should be different. MRI or the Magnetic Resonance Imaging is done when the doctor wants to see what happening inside your body. To clearly see what exactly happening within the body, a resource should be applied on your body and thus you need to get injected. MAGNEVIST is a type of injection and that is applied on the patient before the MRI takes place. It is also known as Gadopentetate Dimeglumine. This is used as a contrast agent that will produce magnetic effect and will help the doctor in the time of MRI. When this injection is used, non bony tissues, organs, blood vessels are clearly seen on MRI. This particular injection is used to identify disorders of blood vessels, tissues, central nervous system etc.

What problems you may face!

Magnevist should not be used if you have problems related to Kidney and Liver. It can be life threatening for several people out there if they have problems related to kidney. The symptoms that can be seen if you have problems of kidney and you are still having this injection;

  • You can see the muscle stiffness and joint stiffness in arms, feet, toe, hands etc.

  • Skin discolouration and skin redness.

  • Constant itching, scaling, swelling, hardening or tightening of your skin, burning of your skin etc.

  • Trouble in moving

  • Deep pain in your bones

  • Muscle weakness etc.

Tell your doctor about your physical condition!

If you are aged more than 60 years and you are having constant kidney and liver problems, then this medication is not for you! Still if you need to go through this type of medication, contact your doctor and tell him which types of problems you were having. If you have diabetes, asthma, high blood pressure, heart related problems then you need to tell that to your doctor. This medication can be fatal if you have any type of syndrome among any of these.

What is ULTRAVIST

Ultravist is basically a contrast for the X ray check up of kidneys. This contrast helps the doctor to see the inner most parts of the kidneys clearly when a pre requisite dosage is applied on the patient. It is also known as Iopromide. This injection is a non ionic sterile, Pyrogen free, clear, odourless, colourless to slight yellow colour solution of iropromide. Patients having Crystography in the Supine position is open to this type of medication and the dosage varies from 50ml to maximum 350 ml recommend and prescribed by the doctor.

Where is it used?

ULTRAVIST is used for the ICU patients. This is done to calculate the GFR rating of the patient. This is used to measure the renal function and the different stages of renal insufficiency of the patient undergoing ICU treatment. The interaction of this drug is very low with membranes and Proteins. This is a fully medicated thing and can only be used if you have a proper doctor’s prescription.
