Pilsner: This is a pale version of lager which takes its name from the city of Pilsen in the Czech Republic.
Ale: Similar to beer in ingredients but is matured by a second fermentation. It is normally bitter tasting with a higher alcoholic content.
Golden Ales: Pale, gold or yellow in color with rich hoppy flavors in order to create a more refreshing, crisp taste.

Porter: Dark or brown in color, the darkness comes from using dark malts. It usually has quite strong flavors with a light bitter finish.
Stout: Related to Porter, typically black colored. Tastes roasted and malty with a hint of sweet caramel. This is due to the use of roasted barley.
Barley Wines: Colors range from copper to red to brown. These are sweeter because of the residual sugar content but are considered to have a dry finish. They normally taste fruity with a balance of mild bitterness.
