Importance and Benefits of Taraweeh in Ramadan
For Muslims, Ramadan is the holiest month of the Islamic calendar. There are various Islamic events and histories associated with Ramadan that add to its sanctity. Above all, it's the month during which fasting for the 29/30 days on a regular basis is made obligatory for every Muslim; the 3rd pillar of the Islamic faith. The only exception is for those who are ill or elderly people. During this month, the blessings and rewards from Allah almighty get multiplied for his believers. Taraweeh prayer is among those blessings of Allah Almighty.
What is Taraweeh?
Taraweeh is an additional Sunnah prayer that is offered between the Fardh and Witr of Isha Prayer only in the month of Ramadan. According to hadith, Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SAWW) prayed (Taraweeh prayer) one night in Mosque and several people followed Him (SAWW). The next day, He (SAWW) prayed again in the mosque and more people followed. Consequently, the people gathered in the mosque on the third and fourth night but Holy Prophet (SAWW) did not come and said to his (SAWW) companions; (description) I saw what you did, and nothing kept me from coming out to you except the fact that I feared that it would be made obligatory for you.
Importance.
According to a Hadith narrated by Abu Hurairah (RA), Our Beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAWW) said that; (description) A person who prays during the night in Ramadan with faith while seeking his reward from Allah Almighty, he will have his past sins forgiven.
Health Benefits of Taraweeh Prayer.
Restores Muscle Strength in Elderly People.
As people get older, their physical exercise decreases naturally which then results in thinning of their bones i.e. mineral deficiency. The repeated movements during Taraweeh prayers can effectively restore the joint flexibility, muscle strength, and tendon power in elderly people.
Hence, if you are traveling through Cheap Hajj and Umrah packages for the holy rituals in Ramadan, don't forget to offer Taraweeh prayers punctually inside of Masjid-al-Haram.
