How well do you know the CLAT 2019 exam pattern?
CLAT 2019 has been announced and along with this CLAT 2019 exam pattern has also been declared by National Law University Odisha, Cuttack. It is essential for aspirants to know the exam pattern of CLAT 2019 as it’ll enable them to be acquainted with the number of questions or type of questions or marking scheme etc. The CLAT 2019 exam pattern will help the candidates to prepare well as they’ll be aware of the marking scheme beforehand. Aspirants will be tested for their knowledge on areas like General Knowledge, Logical Reasoning, English, Elementary mathematics, Criminal law, law of torts and other types of law.
Details of CLAT 2019 exam pattern
1. Duration
This national-level law examination for the LLB course and integrated programs (5 years) will be of 2 hours, commencing at 3:00 pm and will end at 5:00pm.
The exam for LLM would also be of 2 hours.
2. Mode of examination
Even though the application is to be filled via online mode only, this year CLAT would conducted in offline mode.
3. Number and type of questions
In accordance with the
CLAT 2019 LLB exam will have 200 questions; while, the CLAT 2019 LLM exam will have 150 questions.
4. Marking Scheme
The CLAT LLB exam will be of 200 marks whereas CLAT LLM will be of 150 marks. Every question will be objective, with four possible answers and will carry one mark each. For every wrong answer 0.25 marks will be deducted. And for every non-attempted question 0 marks will be given.

5.1 Sections in LLB course exam
According to the CLAT 2019 exam pattern, the CLAT LLB exam will have following sections:
· English (Comprehension & grammar based)
· Legal Aptitude
· Logical Reasoning
· Elementary Mathematics (Including Numerical Ability)
· General Knowledge and Current Affairs
5.2 Sections in Exam for PG Courses
According to the CLAT 2019 exam pattern, the CLAT LLB exam will have following sections:
· Law of Torts
· Family Law
· Criminal Law
· International Law
· Property Law
· Jurisprudence
· Law of Contracts
6. Distribution of section and marks
As per CLAT 2019 exam pattern the LLB course’s exam will comprise of 40 questions from English (including Comprehension), 50 questions from General knowledge, 20 questions from Elementary Mathematics, 50 questions from Legal Aptitude and 40 questions from logical reasoning section. Whereas LLM program’s exam will comprise of 50 questions from Jurisprudence, 50 questions from Constitutional Law and 50 Questions from other areas such as Family law, constitutions etc.
