How to Choose Your Ideal Wedding Veil

Determine the best length for your veil.

The shape and style of your wedding gown can guide you with this decision. You want the veil to end above or below any major features on the gown, so the veil does not distract from it.
What is your dream wedding like? Part of your length decision is personal preference.
Some brides dream of a royal style wedding and a cathedral veil gives the long train effect.
Also watch how it can place focus on or away from body parts. If you want focus away from your hips, then be sure your veil doesn’t end right at hip level. If you want your shoulders hidden chose a veil that will cover them.
Your veil should be the same color as your gown.

If you cannot find an exact match, it is best to go with a shade lighter. Some color names you should be aware of: diamond white and champagne. Diamond white is an off white color that is between a white and an ivory. Champagne is a beige or light tan sort of color. Watch out because there many variations labeled “champagne”. Check to see if it matches.
Choose which type of edge you want on your veil.
Your wedding gown can help determine this. What is it made of? What trims or embellishments are on it? Choose a veil with a similar edge.
A gown with a great deal of trim and beading may work better with a veil that has a simple edge, to keep it from looking too busy. Some simple edges are a pencil edge which is a thin stitching at the very edge of the veil. A cut edge is no edge at all.
A simple gown may do well with a more elaborate edge, adding a touch of detail to spice up the look. Lace has been a favorite
To have embellishment on the veil or not?
Again the gown will determine this plus your own personal preference. Embellishments are decoration added to the veil and they can be crystals, pearls, other beads or even lace appliques. Embellishment adds sparkle or interest to the veil. It can be scattered throughout the veil or concentrated at the edge. English net veil also is a good choice for you.
