Becoming an architect in India, as the other professions require you to go through an entrance examination after you successfully complete your 10+2. There are two ways by which you can actually score an admission in a good college of architecture. First is the JEE Mains paper-2 architectural exam which will let you get admission in the National Institute of Technology government colleges.
The other is the NATA
exam or the National Aptitude Test for Architecture which will let you get
admission in the private colleges of the recognized universities in the
country.

Paper 2 of JEE Mains consist of three sections, mathematics, drawing, and aptitude. Drawing consist of drawing based questions whereas mathematics and aptitude consist of objective type of questions.
The duration of each section is three hours. Not only this but the candidates are not allowed to carry any type of textual material, calculator, logarithmic tables or any type of electronic device into the examination hall. The total number of questions and the maximum marks obtained in the exam have been changing patterns in recent years. The syllabus or the type of questions asked in the examination are pertaining to the state boards in India and the Central Board of Secondary Education. Candidates have an option of either going for the exam in English and Hindi depending on the language that suits them.

for architecture has a lower fee structure and is better in academics as

The NATA exam is mainly used for the admission into government or private aided or unaided schools and colleges of architecture.
You have to
check your admission procedure of various schools in order to get a clear
insight into the admission procedure. Here are a few pointers about the NATA
exam.
• The exam has a maximum score
of 200 marks.
• The passing score for the
NATA exam is 80 marks.
• The exam is mainly conducted
in order to assess the drawing and observational skills, sense of proportion,
aesthetic sensitivity and critical thinking ability.
• The exam is mainly conducted
in two parts, the first one is a paper-based drawing test for two hours and
then is conducted the computer-based online aesthetic sensitivity test.
• In order to get an admission
into the college with your NATA score, your board marks also play a very
important role. The NATA score comprises of 50-50% score and your NATA exam
holds account of 50% marks.
In order to get an admission in any of the top architectural colleges of
the country, you should get an aggregate of 65-75% marks.
