Taking care of the Epson printer by cleaning the clogged printheads, not only saves the printer from becoming fatal too soon but also increases the shelf life of Epson ink.

You likely have a blocked nozzle on your Epson printer if you are seeing pale images, skipping lines, or line streaking in your image. This is a typical issue that many Epson printer users encounter.

Print heads will inevitably clog over time as tiny bits of dried-up Epson ink residue build up in the nozzles. Epson ink from drying inside the nozzles can be greatly avoided by replacing cartridges promptly when the low ink alert sounds, but you may still have one or more that become clogged for a different reason.

How Frequently Should the Printheads on Epson Printers Be Cleaned?

If a printhead is not used frequently enough, dirt can build up on it.  To keep the ink in the cartridges from drying out, we advise printing a few times a month. However, even if you do make an effort to print that much, cleaning may still be necessary on occasion.  When you begin to receive subpar print results is the ideal time to perform a printhead cleaning.  The printhead may typically be cleaned immediately if your printer begins to produce faint, incomplete, or streaky prints.

Can A Epson Printer Be Damaged by Clogged Printheads?

Yes, you could harm your Epson printer if you ignore your printhead for an extended period. The printhead may overheat due to dried Epson ink over time, potentially causing irreversible damage.

Why Does Epson Printer Print With Skipping Lines?

In addition to a clogged printhead, the electronic link between your printer and cartridges could also be the cause. Try taking out the ink and toner cartridges from your printer before turning it off. After a few hours, turn it on and wait for your printer to detect that no cartridges are put in the device. Reinstall each cartridge in the printer, then attempt to print. Naturally, it wouldn't hurt to clean your cartridges' nozzles and contacts first. Go to your print quality settings and adjust it to high quality if your printer is still skipping lines when printing. Try purchasing new cartridges and utilizing them to see if that helps if this still doesn't resolve the issue. Despite the high cost of Epson cartridges, non-Epson ink substitutes are a more cost-effective option.

What Else May Lead To Light or Streaky Prints?

In addition to a clogged printhead, low or empty ink cartridges, subpar paper, or problems with the printer's internal parts could also be the cause.  Try changing your print quality settings, buying new printer cartridges, or switching to a different type of paper if a printhead cleaning doesn't resolve your print quality issue.  If all else fails, you might have to replace your printer or have a technician service it.

From the entire discussion, you can form a clear idea that keeping the Epson printheads clean after use is mandatory to save the Epson ink from drying as well as to save the printer from being damaged. You must keep in mind that clogged printheads will even cause blurred prints and skip lines.
