HIIT – A better way to burn fat?
How to Kick Start Your Metabolism with a High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) – (lynn approved)
In today’s time, HIIT is a common term in the health and fitness world. It has become a common training program since most people have a demanding work life culture which impacts your routine fitness programs. In comes, ‘High Intensity Interval Training’ as HIIT stands for is a broad term for exercises and workouts that involve short periods of concentrated exercise alternated with recovery periods.HIIT refers to a very precise and particular type of training that generally lasts for 10-20 minutes in duration. During your work intervals, you’ll be challenging yourself nearly to your max, if not maximum.
High-intensity interval training is a very efficient way to exercise, and may help you burn more calories than you would with other forms of exercise. In fact, research has found that HIIT burns 25-30% more calories than any other forms of exercise. This is the reason many doctors and physician recommend HIIT for losing fat and for weight loss programs especially for people who are otherwise busy and low in schedule for training
The activities performed in HIIT may vary but includes more
or less any normal exercises with or without any machine or equipment.
For example: In a HIIT workout on a treadmill, you will run at the highest intensity for 30 seconds followed by a minute of walking in a low intensity setting. This would be your entire first set, as HIIT is an intensity workout training there is no stoppage time and you repeat your first set without any breaks. Number of repetitions may vary from 4-6 sets.
Dropping fat is directly proportional to net calories burned. Therefore, introducing HIIT in your workout routine would be beneficial to shred your fats faster and get chiseled a lot quicker than any average routine. Essentially, HIIT helps you burn your fat even after you're done with the exercise through its spectacular way of increasing metabolic rate for hours after your exercise. Research has shown that people who religiously follow the HIIT program develop a high metabolism rate and hence helps in burning down them extra calories. HIIT increases your metabolism after its training, more so than any other cardio or weight training and has proven to uses fat for energy rather than carbs, making it super beneficial in dropping fat levels.
HIIT provides similar health benefits of other training
methods but in a short time. It is not only for burning the extra fat but also
helps in reducing the level of blood pressure and heart rate in your body as
well as controlling the sugar level. Therefore, if you're on a time crunch or
have a busy schedule, employ HIIT in your schedule.
