Dog-friendly Beaches
Getting out and getting exercise is something that we should all try to achieve on a daily basis. Not only should we be getting exercise, but our furry friends should be as well. It is recommended that your dogs get at least one good walk a day in order to keep them healthy and well behaved.
A walk around the block is good, but why not give them a bit more of a scenic route and take them across to a dog friendly beach. This gives them the opportunity to run on the sand, play in the water and burn off their excess energy.
Check out some of our favourite dog-friendly beaches on the north side of Brisbane.
Bribie Island
An ideal choice for a dog friendly day out at the beach is to travel to Bribie Island and hit the beach from the Red Beach car park around to Woody Bay. Woorim is one of the most popular dog friendly beaches in the Moreton area.

Redcliffe
There are a number of beaches in Redcliffe where you can take
your dogs for a walk as long as they are kept on their leash. The only beach in
the area that allows dogs off leash is the Queens Beach. It is a trial basis
that the beach is for off leash and the times are between 8 am and after 4 pm daily. The off-leash area is found
between Drury Point (Kennedy Esplanade) and Osbourne Point (Flinders Lane).
Queens Beach has a range of
activities and areas that you can visit and enjoy.

Deception Bay
There are a number of areas within Deception Bay where you
can take the dogs for off leash time on the beach. Off-leash
dogs can roam the beach between Seaview Parade and Windlass Street. They can
also visit the beach between Wallin Avenue and Joseph Crescent. There is also
an on-leash trial of the foreshore footpath area between Wallin Avenue and
Joseph Crescent before 8.00am and after 4.00pm daily.
The beautiful beach is a perfect area to let the dogs run wild.

Beachmere
There are sections of the beach
where dogs can be both on leash and off leash.
Off-leash dogs are allowed around
the southern end of Biggs Avenue adjacent to the carpark, south to the mouth of
Caboolture River on the foreshore only. They are not prohibited to enter the
adjacent Beachmere South Reserve and estuary.
The foreshore parkland adjacent to
Timothy Esplanade on Bakers Flat Road is an on-leash dog area.

Walking
your dog in Brisbane at the beach will be a lot of fun for both you and
your pupper. So why not grab the leash and get outside and enjoy the sunshine
and salt water.
