UPSC CMS Exam Pattern

Candidates who want to apex their career in Union public service commission and preparing for the UPSC CMS Exam they are advised to check complete exam scheme here. On this page, we have provided the complete UPSC CMS Exam Pattern. Combined Medical Services Examination is of total 500 marks. Union public service commission CMS exam will be divided into two papers first one is Paper 1 and another one is Paper 2. Each paper carries 250 marks and each paper includes total 120 questions.

Paper I consist of General Ability, General Medicine and Paediatrics whereas Paper II is of Surgery, Gynaecology/ Obstetrics and Preventive/ Social Medicine. Questions are asked in English language only and Exam is of objective type only. Aspirants will get 120 Minutes to complete the exams no extra time will be provided the candidates.

UPSC Exam Pattern Negative Marking Scheme

Part-1

Candidates are informed that UPSC Exam will consist negative marking so candidates who are going to participate in the exam be careful while selecting the answers. Don’t forget that for every wrong answer, 1/3rd of the marks will be deducted as penalty for that question. Whereas if aspirants give more than one answer to a particular question, that will be considered wrong and there will be same penalty as above situation.

Part-II: Personality Test

Candidates who successfully qualify the Computer based examination need to appear for the next round which is Interview or Personality Test. This interview round will consist 100 marks. The main purpose of conducting the exam is to test General Knowledge and ability of the candidates in the fields of academics and also nature of personality test. Through interview, observer assess the candidate’s intellectual curiosity, critical powers of assimilation, balance of judgment and alertness of mind, ability for social cohesion, integrity of character, initiative and capability for leadership in all terms.

UPSC Combined Medical Services Paper Pattern

Commission has discretion to fix qualifying marks in all subjects of the examination. Reach at least 20 minutes before the examination. As there is objective type questions so, one is not permitted to bring or use calculators inside the Examination Hall. Candidates also make sure that one is allowed to being any electronic or communication device in the premises as they are banned on the hall.
