Entry Requirement

Syllabus

This sage accounts courses aim to give you the understanding and confidence to manage bookkeeping processes using sage 50 accounts. There is also the chance to gain a level 2 using accountancy software qualification. There are 13 units within this course and below you can read a full syllabus of what is involved in each: - 

Units 1: Setting up company details, navigating the software, setting the program date, setting up the financial year, entering customer particulars and opening balances, backing up work, entering supplier details and opening balances, security and protection of data.
 
Units 2: Stock regulations in, batch supplier invoices, supplier invoices for goods and services, error corrections, revising records. 

Units 3: Reinstating data, opening assets, ledgers and double-entries in Sage, budgets, liabilities and capital balances, initial balances in the nominal ledger, routine reports. 

Units 4: Create customer invoices, check on activity in customer accounts, preview and print customer invoices, generate customer letters, update ledgers, check communication history, and enter new product details. 

Units 5: Process payments made against supplier invoices, enter petty cash payments, process bank payments, return the petty cash float, the structure of nominal accounts, and use the journal to correct errors, new nominal accounts, and trial balance. 

Units 6: Enter customer receipts for invoices items, enter customer receipts for part-payments, enter customer receipts for non-invoiced items, checked activity of account after part payment, produce reports for customers, and use the diary feature. 

Units 7: Reconcile monthly bank statements, reports criteria, print and view bank reports and day books, correct basic entry errors, audit trail, reconciling debtors and creditors regulate accounts. 

Units 8: Payments on account, entering bank receipts, entering prompt payment discounts, recurring entries, memorise and recall with bank receipts, and update journals for December.   

Units 9: Deleting outdated records memorise, and recall features for invoices, credit notes for sales and purchases, prompt payment discounts, processing stock returns. 

Units 10: Adding users with controlled access, create a bill of materials, create a new product package, produce special price lists, and create a delivery address. 

Units 11: Obtaining orders, marking purchase orders if delivered, updating the ledger, part-delivery of order, purchase alternate order address, cancelling orders. 

Units 12: Erasing a price list, bring up-to-date the ledgers, sales orders, allocating stock, adding a carriage charge, place holds on orders, cancel orders. 

Units 13: VAT returns, management accounts, trial balance, budgets vs actuals, year-end procedure, and AAT certification information.
