We caution customers that in the night vision industry very low prices can actually be a big red flag as many companies sell units with cheaper/lower quality image intensifier tubes (the hi-tec part of the device) in the same model name outer "housing".  They advertise these units like they are the exact same thing - they most definitely are not the same, and you can see the difference!

Our philosophy on this is that if we were personally buying a  piece of equipment that cost $3500, saving $200 and getting a device with a questionable/lower quality image tube just isn't worth it. Image Tube Summary: Generation 1, the most basic night vision technology, will amplify available light several thousand times allowing the user to see moderate distances in the dark. Built in Infrared Illuminators give light "boost" to the Gen 1 units allowing them to work. The next step up from Gen 1 night vision is Gen 2 which is a very big step in price but it's an even bigger step up in performance and longevity. Basic users will find Gen 1 to be pretty good however there really is no comparison to the higher generations of night vision equipment.
