Australia 190 Visa – Get PR with State Nomination
The Skilled Nominated Visa (Subclass 190) allows foreign skilled workers who have been nominated by a local governing agency of an Australian state or territory – based on their ability to meet labor market shortages in that area – to permanently live and work in the country. This makes the Australia 190 Visa one of the most direct and popular routes to permanent residence (PR).
States and territories have a shortage of local Australian workers in various occupations, and need to recruit appropriately skilled immigrants for these jobs. Each state and territory has different shortage occupations, which are reflected on their respective Skilled Occupation Lists. Only those who are qualified to practice these occupations can obtain a nomination. Being nominated also adds 5 points to the score of a candidate under this visa category.
In order to qualify for this visa, candidates must meet the following Australia immigration requirements:
• Practice an occupation that is listed on the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List or the Short-term Skilled Occupation List, and have a positive skills assessment from the relevant authority for that occupation in Australia.
• Be under 45 years of age at the time of being invited to apply for the visa.
• Have at least competent English language skills.
• Score at least 65 points based on age, work experience, education, English proficiency, nomination, partner skills or single status, and adaptability factors.
