The United States has a suitable air season which stays from March to November. European countries find April to May as the best time for air shows. The duration of the year which is not appropriate for the shows, pilots sharpen their flying skills and technicians focus on the maintenance of the air-crafts.

Safety:

Air shows are risky as compared to other public events. Spectators and aviators both can experience hazardous conditions without proper safety measures. In 1988 and 2002, air shows had faced major rage due to huge loss of life. To avoid such mishappenings, the aviation committee has regulated some strict rules to follow as such a distance between the display area and the audience is increased.

To conduct events successfully, New Zealand government scrutinize the applications properly for air shows. Even, in Auckland, an appropriate approval of the public is required before organizing the event. Insurance regarding health and safety is compulsory. The event organizer has to be more careful regarding minute details related to the safety of everyone.

In New Zealand air shows, aircraft are instructed to fly at a certain distance from the crowd. This distance depends on the stature of the aircraft and its style of flying. Pilots need to get permissions for the variety of aircraft-display with the permissible limit of distance of flying from the ground.

Among all types of Auckland events, air shows are very popular though they are not totally safe even with proper safety measures.
