A Guide To Different Types Of Projectors
Projectors are staple devices used in office
meetings, classroom instructions and in corporate events to showcase an information
in a bigger format. They expand the image of the computer screen and project
the zoomed image on a flat surface for a room full of people to see. Projectors
have greatly benefitted businesses by bringing people together in a room and
exchanging ideas on a larger screen.
Most people believe that projectors are only
used for disseminating information in office boardrooms and classrooms. On the
contrary, projectors are great devices for having a family time together. One
can install a projector and have a theatre experience in the comfort of their
home.
Today projectors come with much advanced
features. They offer wireless connectivity, high definition images and even
provide crystal clear, bright images in rooms full of light.
Projectors
are of two types: LCD projectors and DLP projectors.
LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) projectors produce
sharper images and punchier colours as they have a high lumens output. So they
are best for PPTs and still images. On the other hand, DLP(Digital Light
Processing) offer stellar output when they are used for motion pictures like
movies. DLP projectors are lighter than the LCD ones. So, if you have to
relocate the projector to another part of a facility, then the DLP projectors
will be the handier ones.
Things to
look for while buying a projector
Good Optics: The number of lenses, mirrors and
filters that are housed inside the projector play an important role in the
output of the image. Poor quality optics will lead to blurred images and
distorted output. It can make a straight line look like a crooked one. If the
projected area is big and the image is large, then the output will be worse
with a bad optical arrangement. Most projectors are equipped with good optics.
One can check the quality of the optics by projecting a grid of straight lines
and checking whether they are straight.
Brightness: The lumens output of the projector
will determine how the enlarged image will look like on the projected area. The
clarity of the image depends upon the size of the screen and the amount of
darkness there is in the room. If the projected screen has an eight-foot width
and the room is slightly darkened, then the lumens output of the projector has
to be 2000. In a completely dark room, a 2000 lumens output will do the job.
Colour clarity: Always remember, no matter how much bright the output is, if the colour is not accurate and falters then the image can come out to be dull. The colour metrics is a subjective thing and it can differ for different people. Customers can check for colour clarity and colour fidelity by keeping two projectors of two brands side by side and look at the outputs.
Most projectors have comparably equal image quality and brightness. LED projectors have also come up to the fore in recent times and have gained much popularity. One can buy LED projectors online from an array of different brands. Besides LED projectors, there are LCD projectors and 3D projectors which are available from brands like Epson and Sony. The projectors price list in India is reasonable and within the reach of most budget customers.
