Kelvan:
It is a small kind of get together which is held at the bride and the groom
house. Relatives and friends are warmly invited to join the extensive meal.
Sakharpuda:
It is also known as engagement ceremony which performs before the wedding. The
groom mother offers a saree, jewelry, green bangles, and a sugar packet
(sakharpuda) to the bride which symbolizes her acceptance in the groom’s
family. After an engagement, the wedding date and time is officially announced.
Haldi:
The married women make a paste of turmeric and oil, additionally added rose
water. The yellow color needs to wear on this day. The paste is applied on the
bride and the groom face, hands to enhance their beauty. After that, the bride
and the groom get a holy water shower. Both families command the bride and the
groom as not to step out of the home after this ceremony.
Sankalp:
The bride maternal uncle brings her to the mandap. After that, the bride and
the groom exchange flower garland and everyone shower them with turmeric dipped
rice symbolize a token of blessings.
