SOLE Fitness Announces Ergonomic Adjustable Lumbar Support For Recumbent Bikes

The goal of their new lumbar support system is to make the recumbent bike more suitable for seniors, as well as for people with limited mobility or who are recovering from an injury, including a back injury.

SOLE’s research and development team has increasingly focused on ergonomic design principles in response to recent findings by several national health organizations, which indicate that regular physical activity is one of the most important ways in which people over 65 can lower their risk of heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes, dementia and major cancers, and improve their bone strength, balance and coordination, and more.

However, as the same research revealed, mobility, flexibility and postural limitations often impede fitness efforts; even in the case of low-impact activities like exercise bikes.
