Defect Checks

Once the reclaimed and recycled timber arrives at Reconstructed's Geelong warehouse, it is inspected and checked for defects. The team can identify mould, fungi, and insect infestations that might render the wood unusable. Timber which passes these checks is then sent to Malaysia for milling and crafting.

“Some items require more processing than others. For example, many of the floorboards we salvage are still in great condition and just require sanding and polish. Other times we recycle a piece of timber into a totally new product.”
