Former Australian Bowler Jason Gillespie Told The Weakness of Pakistan Team

Pakistan Test team coach Jason Gillespie has talked about the biggest problem of the team ahead of the two-match Test series against Bangladesh in August. The former Australian bowler says that the biggest problem of the team is the lack of consistency, they are not able to perform well with consistency. Pakistan has struggled to win in all formats since the ODI World Cup in India last year.

Since then in white ball cricket, the Babar-led team has suffered defeats against the United States of America (USA), Ireland, England, New Zealand, India and other teams. In Test cricket, late last year, they played a three-match Test series against Australia under the captaincy of Shan Masood. In which they lost 0-3.

Despite Pakistan's poor performance on the Australia tour, Gillespie has focused on the positives of their performance. "During the last tour of Australia, Pakistan lost the series 0-3, but they played well. There were also occasions in the series when they were dominating the opposition team," Gillespie was quoted as saying by Geo News.

He further said, "Pakistan cricket team is very talented, but the lack of consistency in performance is the main problem. We will see how we can bring consistency and stability in performance." Gillespie further said, "My opinion is that Pakistan's fielding is their weakness, so this will be my priority. For me, the goal is to see how we play against quality teams."

Pakistan's Test series against Bangladesh will begin on August 21 at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. The second Test will be played on August 30 at the National Stadium, Karachi. Pakistan would like to strengthen its position in the WTC points table by winning both these Test matches.
