Why do we need to be Saved!

I've heard a lot of people ask why do I need to be saved and what do I need to be saved from.

In this message I hope to be able to answer those questions because a lot of people are totally unaware of the reality of their need for salvation and why.

The following is Referenced from:

Scripture is clear that all people need to be saved, and here are some reasons why that salvation is necessary:

We need to be saved because we are totally lost in sin. It’s not that we need to save ourselves—we cannot do so—but that we need to be saved.

God the Father is Holy and Perfect in all His ways and we fall short of His demand that we too are to be perfect and Holy, for we have been created in His Image.

What are your sins?

They are all your wrongdoings. Every wrong word, thought, deed. All acts of disobedience, anger, wrath, malice, slander, and filthy language, lies, thefts, sexual immorality, fornication, adultery, premarital sex, pornography, homosexual relations, idolatry etc.

The Bible teaches the total depravity of the human race; that is, every aspect of our being has been corrupted by sin.

Romans 3:10–12

10 As it is written: “There is no one righteous, not even one;

11 there is no one who understands; there is no one who seeks God.

12 All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one.”

– We need to be saved because we are under God’s wrath. We are “by nature deserving of wrath”

Ephesians 2:3

3 All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath.

Without salvation, we stand condemned: “Whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son” (John 3:18). We need Jesus Christ, the Righteous One, to propitiate the wrath of God and receive our judgment.

– We need to be saved because we are in danger of hell. After death comes judgment (Hebrews 9:27), and, if we die without God’s salvation, we will meet the same fate as the rich man who lifted up his eyes “in Hades, being in torment” (Luke 16:23, ESV). We need a Savior to rescue us from a fate literally worse than death.

– We need to be saved because we are spiritually dead. Before salvation, we are “dead in [our] sins”.Dead people can do nothing for themselves. We need resurrection. We need the life-giving power of Christ, who alone can conquer death.

Colossians 2:13

13 When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins,

– We need to be saved because our hearts are hardened by evil.

Jeremiah 17:9

“The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?”. The unsaved “are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts”

Ephesians 4:18

18 They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts.

We need a supernatural work of the Holy Spirit to fix our hearts and align them with God’s will.

– We need to be saved because we are enslaved to sin and Satan. “Jews and Gentiles alike are all under the power of sin”

If you are not Jewish, then you are a gentile. You may be a white gentile, a black gentile, a brown gentile, an Asian gentile, a Chinese gentile, Cuban gentile, French gentile, German gentile and the list goes on and on. but, If you are not Jewish, then you are a gentile.

Romans 3:9

9 What shall we conclude then? Do we have any advantage? Not at all! For we have already made the charge that Jews and Gentiles alike are all under the power of sin.

We need a Redeemer to liberate us. In Christ we “have been set free from sin” as mentioned in Romans 6:18

– We need to be saved because we are at odds with God. “The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God” (Romans 8:7–8). We need Jesus, the Prince of Peace, to reconcile us to God and bring us into the family of God as adopted sons and daughters.

When Jesus told Nicodemus, “You must be born again,” He spoke of necessity (John 3:7). Being saved—receiving the new birth—is not just a nice idea or a divine suggestion. It is the deepest need of the human soul: “You must be born again.”

------------------------------------

The Romans Road is a simple yet powerful method of explaining why we need salvation, how God provided salvation, how we can receive salvation, and what are the results of salvation.

The following is Referenced from:

https://gotquestions(dot)org/Romans-road-salvation(dot)html

The first verse on the Romans Road to salvation is Romans 3:23, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” We have all sinned. We have all done things that are displeasing to God. There is no one who is innocent.

The second Scripture on the Romans Road to salvation, Romans 6:23, teaches us about the consequences of sin: “For the wages of sin is death.” The punishment that we have earned for our sins is death. Not just physical death, but eternal death, which is separation fro the presence and goodness of God.!

The third verse on the Romans Road to salvation picks up in the middle of Romans 6:23: “But the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Next is Romans 5:8 which declares, “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

Jesus Christ died for us! Jesus’ death paid for the price of our sins. Jesus’ resurrection proves that God accepted Jesus’ death as the payment for our sins.

The fourth step on the Romans Road to salvation is Romans 10:9, “That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

Because of Jesus’ death on our behalf, all we have to do is believe in Him, trusting His death as the payment for our sins - and we will be saved!

Romans 10:13 says it again, “for everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

Jesus died to pay the penalty for our sins and rescued us from eternal death. Salvation, the forgiveness of sins, is available to anyone who will trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

The final aspect of the Romans Road to salvation is the results of salvation.

Romans 5:1 has this wonderful message: “Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” Through Jesus Christ we can have a relationship of peace with God.

Romans 8:1 says, “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus."

Because of Jesus’ death on our behalf, we will never be condemned for our sins.

Finally, we have this precious promise of God in Romans 8:38-39: “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

========================

God is holy and God is love. His holiness demands that our sin be punished in full. His love provides a way for us to be saved from this punishment.

How is this possible?

Someone had to be willing to suffer what we deserve. Our substitute had to be a sinless man, able to suffer the full wrath of God against our sin. The only one able to take our place was God's Son, Jesus Christ.

The greatest display of God's love unfolded as His Son, Jesus Christ left heaven to become a man. Born of a virgin over 2000 years ago, the Lord Jesus Christ lived with His creation. He was unable to sin, yet He showed compassion to sinners all around Him.

Jesus came and lived the perfect sinless life for you and me, because we cannot do it ourselves. Jesus then went to the cross in our place and died for our sins and took the Wrath and the Judgment of God that was meant for you and me, upon Himself.

Then, on the 3rd day, Jesus rose from the Grave in Triumphant Victory defeating death and conquering sin. Jesus did this for YOU and me, so that through Him and what He has done for us at the Cross, you and I don't have to face death - which is Eternal Separation from the goodness and presence of God.

Jesus took our sins (wrongdoings) upon Himself and He PAID the sin debt that we could not pay. Jesus paid the sin debt for us by the shedding of His Blood on the Cross at Calvary. Jesus Died for you and me, in our place.

The Death we Deserved to Receive Ourselves, Jesus took upon Himself, because of His great Love for us

However, in 1 John 1:9 it says...

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

So, If we confess of our sins, and believing Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior, He will FORGIVE Us, and we will Not face the Death we so rightly deserve which is Eternal separation from the presence and goodness of God. Through Jesus, we will Live Forever because He Rose Again on the 3rd Day in Newness of Life!

========================

On a side note, we need to know and understand the following...

You cannot and will not Receive the Gift of God which is Eternal Life through Jesus Christ by trying to be a good person and doing good works.

Ephesians 2:8-9

8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast.

You are NOT Saved and Forgiven based on your works.

You are Saved and Forgiven by putting your Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and what He did for you at the Cross.

You will want to do good works because you are Saved, not to be Saved.

There are too many people doing a lot of good things, thinking that they will go to Heaven because of the good things that they are doing. They feel they are NOT THAT BAD. However, they are WRONG.

You can choose to Live Forever have (Eternal Life) with God (Jesus) in Heaven and Live in Total Inexpressible Joy, Unlimited Peace, Pure Love and Beauty beyond imagination... or You can choose to be Separated from God which is (Eternal Death) and spend Eternity in Hell.

HELL... Really does Exist and it is Worse than you can ever Imagine.

The word of God warns about hell describing it with images of darkness, gnashing of teeth, fire, "the fire that burns them will not be quenched" Isaiah 66:24 and complete separation from God.

Heaven is NOT for GOOD People, Heaven is for FORGIVEN People.

========================

So, How do I get right with God?

This is a short recap of what we have already explained earlier...

In order to get “right” with God, we must first understand what is “wrong.” As this was mentioned and explained above the answer is sin. “There is no one who does good, not even one” (Psalm 14:3). We have rebelled against God’s commands; we “like sheep, have gone astray” (Isaiah 53:6).

The bad news is that the penalty for sin is death. “The soul who sins is the one who will die” (Ezekiel 18:4). The good news is that a loving God has pursued us in order to bring us salvation. Jesus declared His purpose was “to seek and to save what was lost” (Luke 19:10), and He pronounced His purpose accomplished when He died on the cross with the words, “It is finished!” (John 19:30).

Having a right relationship with God begins with acknowledging your sin and then humbly confessing your sin to God (Isaiah 57:15). “For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved” (Romans 10:10).

========================

Will you come to Jesus today, for the forgiveness of your sins that He offers and put your Faith in Him and believe in what He has already done for you?

If you are not sure how to do it or what to say, then I would like to lead you in

a prayer of Repentance asking Jesus to Forgive you of your sins and be Reconciled back to God the Father through His Son, Jesus Christ, and become a New Creation in Christ today.

2 Corinthians 5:17

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation: the old has gone, the new has come!".

Just saying the prayer below itself, won't save you. You MUST BELIEVE in your heart that the words you say from this prayer are true and believing it to be so through Faith in Jesus Christ in what He did for you at the Cross.

Jesus died in your place for your sins and took the Wrath and the Judgment of God that was meant for you upon Himself and on the 3rd day, Jesus rose from the Grave in Triumphant Victory defeating death and conquering sin.

Jesus did this for YOU, so that through Him and what He has done for you at the Cross, you don't have to face death - which is Eternal Separation from God.

John 1:12-13

"Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God".

God is giving you a CHOICE, so let's make the Choice and receive Eternal Life, Right Now, Today!

As I say this pray, repeat it after me...

Heavenly Father, I come to you in the name of your Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. I confess to You that I am a sinner, and that I cannot save myself, and I deserve the consequences of my sin.

Right now I place my sins at the Cross of Christ and I'm placing my trust in Jesus and Jesus alone as my personal Lord and Savior.

I believe Jesus is the Son of God, who lived a sinless life, died in my place as my substitute, shedding His Blood for me on the Cross, in order to pay the debt that I owe for my sin, and then rose from the grave defeating death and conquering sin, to give me Eternal Life.

Please forgive me and cleanse me of my sins through the power of the Blood of Jesus, and set me free to live for You, through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Thank you for loving me and creating me. Thank you for living for me. Thank you for dying for me. Thank you for forgiving me and washing away all of my sins by the blood of Jesus Christ, that was personally shed for me on the cross.

Thank you for rising in newness of life for me. Thank you for ascending back into heaven and sitting down at the right hand of the Father and continuing to intercede for me. Thank you for accepting me and giving me Eternal Life.

In Jesus Name I pray, Amen.
