How can I cure a kidney cyst?
Renal cysts are simply sacs of water. If 100 people had x-rays, 80 of them would be seen to have renal cysts. They are usually benign (harmless) and do not develop into anything - cancer or infection. They are best left alone and can be checked every few years with an ultrasound or simple x-ray for repeat evaluation.
Having one cyst on your kidney is fine not to worry. There is no cure, nothing to take or do. A cyst is a small amount of water in a small part of the outer edge of the kidney. If you have pain then your urologist can treat it. But you should not have to worry as many people have these without any trouble. It is not unusual for one to develop.
Keep well-hydrated drink 8–8oz. glasses of water every day to help your kidneys and other organs functioning properly. This will do your kidneys a world of good. It will flush out minerals, salt, sugar, protein, and other waste from your blood before anything like a kidney stone forms.
Stop drinking anything with caffeine which dehydrates you. When you become dehydrated your urine will become concentrated and will leave minerals behind in your kidneys which will form kidney stones.
Reduce your salt intake because it binds with the other minerals to form sharp-edged kidney stones like knives with excruciating pains. Salt also raises blood pressure and causes edema. Which will cause kidney damage and lead to kidney failure and death.
To diagnose a kidney cyst, you might see a specialist called a urologist.
Some Test may be ordered to find out the growth of cyst which is given below:
- CT scans
- MRIs
- Ultrasounds
- Kidney function test
- Urinalysis
The recommended treatment options are:
- Puncturing and draining the cyst, then filling it with alcohol.
- Surgery to remove the cyst
If your simple kidney cyst is causing signs and symptoms, your doctor may recommend treatment. Options include: Puncturing and draining the cyst, then filling it with alcohol. Rarely, to shrink the cyst, your doctor inserts a long, thin needle through your skin and through the wall of the kidney cyst. Most simple kidney cysts are harmless and don't cause problems. If a cyst grows, sclerotherapy or surgery can remove it without any long-term complications. Polycystic kidney disease can be more serious. Without treatment, PKD can cause complications such as high blood pressure and kidney failure.
