Naturally, weed, also known as cannabis, is a non-toxic plant since it has been a part of human life.

For centuries, it has played a key role in human health when Weed or weed products are used for medicinal purposes. Intentionally or unintentionally, We have also seen bad weed products in the community, transmitted by anti-social elements for economic benefits. Along with the ongoing legalization of cannabis, the side effects of contaminated weed should be discussed.

However, Certain contaminants are now being added. When these contaminants are added or mixed with weed, they become impure and harmful to the human body.

Different kinds of pollutants are not found in the weeds that are being sold today. For instance, hair, hairspray, pesticides, lead, and all sorts of stuff that when inhaled; could cause serious damage to the body.

Because of this, many governments around the world have made weed illegal. On the other hand, some governments create something called the Weed Dispensary where somewhere weed can be sold legally based on prescription.

However, Not only the illegal sellers but some legal weed dispensaries have also been caught with contaminated weed. Therefore, nowadays, cannabis is mostly contaminated and not healthy anymore.

The Side Effects of Smoking Contaminated Weed

The side effects of ingesting contaminated weed can be extremely bad. It can damage your respiratory system and cause lung diseases similar to inhaling dirt, sand, and quartz. Thus smoking contaminated weed with toxic chemicals like fertilizers, heavy metals, and lead has a chance of exposing you to a wide array of illnesses.

1.    Potential Issues of Sinus Infection, Coughing, Breath and Lungs Infection

These are all side effects that come from smoking weed that contain certain contaminants like fungi or bacteria. Contaminants like these are nasty for your health.

Especially for people with asthma, allergies, and weak immune systems. People with these kinds of health issues can suffer huge consequences from ingesting this poisonous cannabis.

Although healthy people might experience mold consequences, it can be a huge problem for others.

2.    Cryptococcus Infection

"A study published by the British in the British Medical Journal in 2018 revealed that Cryptococcus meningitis was found in a cannabis smoker."

According to this, the patient may have symptoms like nausea, dizziness, fatigue, to memory loss. 

This infection stemmed from three fungi that were also found in a contaminated weed: Aspergillus, Mucor, and Cryptococcus. When the weed samples were taken in the United States of America.

Furthermore, by inhaling Aspergillus fungi, you get an infection known as Aspergillosis.

In the best-case scenario, Aspergillosis causes allergy-related symptoms. However, worst-case scenario, it causes cavities and fungus balls on the lungs, which will eventually spread to other parts of the body.

3.    Drug-Related Issues

The drug-related issues come from smoking cannabis that has been laced with chemical drugs. Normally, chemical drugs are huge health destroyers. So, mixing them with cannabis can cause an even greater issue.

For instance, smoking cannabis and taking cocaine alongside is a good way to lose your life. Also, you don’t know if your body can stand the effects of these drugs.

Lastly, it should be noted that smoking cannabis mixed with external drugs is dangerous for three main reasons.

·       You expose yourself to the health issues associated with that drug.

·       If the drugs contain any pollutants, you expose yourself to the possibility of ingesting those pollutants.

·       You are affected by the interaction between the active compounds of that drug and the active ingredients of cannabis.
