5 Makeup Skills to Master During Self-Quarantine
Right now is the perfect time to hone your makeup skills for when you can finally get out of the lockdown situation. It doesn’t matter if you’re a beginner! Just follow these steps from professional makeup artist and the next time you apply makeup and go out somewhere, you’re going to turn some heads!
1.
Contour Your
Cheeks Correctly
Step 1: Suck your cheeks in and feel your
cheekbone with a finger. When you begin to contour your face, make sure that
your brush is at the bottom edge of your cheekbone.
Step 2: Load your angled contouring brush with
a contour powder/bronzer that is two to three shades darker than your skin tone
and swipe down from your ear to the apple of your cheek.
Step 3: Choose any blush that goes well with
your skin tone and dab it on to the apple of your cheeks. Blend it out with
circular motions for a rosy glow!
2.
Highlight Your
Face To Look Like A Goddess
Step 1: Apply the highlighter alongside the top
of your cheekbone in a C-shape that goes up to your temples and make sure not
to get it too close to your under-eye area while blending.
Step 2: Dab a little highlighter onto the tip of
your nose, and you can also apply it in a straight line from the top to the
bottom of your nose.
Step 3: Highlight your forehead by swiping some
highlighter down the centre of your forehead and then by gently blending it
outwards. You can also draw attention to your lips by highlighting the centre
of your chin.
Step 4: For the ultimate popping look, apply
some highlighter to the inner corner of your eyes, some over your brow bones,
and a little onto your cupid’s bow.
3.
Execute The
Perfect Smokey Eye
Step 1: Apply a thin coat of eyeshadow primer and then use a
small eyeshadow brush to apply the lightest shade onto the inner corner of your
eyes and under your brows.
Step 2: Take the darkest shade and apply it along your upper
and lower lashline. Swirl your brush up towards your crease to blend it out.
Step 3: Add a medium
shade along the center of your eyelid and blend it to create an ombre effect
with the darker shade.
Step 4: Use a fluffy brush to blend all the shades until
there are no visible harsh lines, and then proceed to apply eyeliner and
mascara for an ultra-dramatic look!
4.
Create The Perfect
Winged Eyeliner
Step 1: Draw an extended line on the outer edge
of your eyes, angling it with your eyebrows and then stop at your preferred
length.
Step 2: Draw a straight diagonal line from the
tip of your wing to the middle of your upper lash line and then extend this
line to the inner corner of your eye.
Step 3: Fill in the gaps with eyeliner until
there’s no skin peeking through.
5.
Create The
Illusion of Bigger Lips
Step 1: Before you start applying your lipstick,
apply a full coverage concealer and then overline your lips with a lip liner
but don’t go too overboard!
Step 2: Take a lighter shade of lipstick and
fill in your lips up to the area extended with your lip liner.
Step 3: To make your lips look even fuller,
highlight the middle of your lips with your favourite lip gloss!
