Cricket is one of the most followed sports in India and many Nations. Many batsmen have been able to create a niche for themselves while representing their Countries. Not only some of them are icons but got the chance to play for a long time.

When they play in a game, then a Dream11 match prediction is made by users in their favor as they are considered the guarantee of success.

Selectors of Cricket Teams find it a tough ask to phase out experienced players from the side and give chances to young blood.

But some players who played the longest format of the game and attained legendary status could not command the same magnitude of success in One-Day Internationals.

Hence, they were either dropped from ODI Teams owing to average performances or groom emerging players.

On that note, we will take a look at 3 Cricketers whose career in ODIs came to an unexpected halt in this post!

  1. James Anderson

James Anderson is one of the greatest bowlers to have played Test Cricket. But he was left out of the ODI Team after the poor performance of England in 2015 World Cup. The 37-year-old bowler is still a name to reckon in Test Cricket with 584 wickets in his name. Anderson, like many of his Team members, did not have a nice outing in the 2015 World Cup. The marquee Tournament saw him picking only 5 scalps at an average that read 49. He failed to make it to the England ODI Team after that. The Management has moved ahead of Anderson, and was looking for new fast bowlers. James went on to take 269 wickets in ODIs. Interestingly, he is the leading wicket-taker in ODIs and Tests for England. The sidelining of the fast bowler was shocking as he was just 33 and must have featured in some more ODIs. Anderson remains a hot favorite of users while making Dream11 match prediction in Test Cricket.

  1. Stuart Broad

Stuart Broad played for England in an ODI 4 years before. The English ODI Team now has many options, and it is unlikely that he will feature again for England. He featured in only one Series after 2015 World Cup Vs South Africa. Stuart has 178 wickets in ODIs but took only 1 wicket in 16 overs in the rubber. And that led to him being ignored for an ODI selection. Just like Anderson, even Broad was overlooked for ODIs to give chances to young bowlers. Stuart is a part of the Test squad of England and has taken 485 wickets. He is at the 7th in the list of highest wicket-taker in Test Cricket. He is only 33, and surely has some years of Cricket left. The right-hand bowler has the chance of going down as the leading wicket-taker in Test for England. He was only 29 when he was not picked for ODIs, and it was indeed surprising. Cook is still a part of Dream11 match prediction by users as he is a force to reckon with in Test Cricket.

  1. Alastair Cook

In Test Cricket, Alastair Cook is England’s leading run-scorer. He has also amassed 12,472 runs. Fans consider him as one of the best openers in the game and have included him while making Dream11 match prediction on Fantasy Cricket Apps. However, he could not play a long inning in ODIs and featured in only 92 games. Cook made 3204 runs with 19 fifties and 5 tons at an average of 36.40. When everyone was sure that he would lead the English contingent in the 2015 WC, he could not. Owing to his poor show with the bat, he was sacked 2 months before the Tournament. Cook made way for Eoin Morgan. Since then, he is yet to feature in an ODI game. It denotes that his ODI career is over!
